3 Sure Fire Ways To Make Extra Cash in a Recession

Are you ready for the cuts? Are you ready to experience the biggest social upheaval in Britain, nay the world, since the end of the war? If the commentators are right, the services we have come to rely on in our daily lives are going to be decimated. Suddenly non-profit local community groups will have to mobilize to take the place of local authorities in providing some axed services. Pensioner day-centres for instance are likely to lose funding and rely on charities to help them continue. Youth services are likely to be axed as well.We all have our opinions as to the wisdom of the cuts proposed by the Coalition but they will happen and we will have to deal with them. So what are your plans? What will you do in a worst-case scenario? Say, if you lost your job or your partner lost their job. Could you pay the mortgage? Can you make the payments on the car?

Here are 5 ideas to keep you on the straight and narrow. By starting off small with the absolute minimum of outlay you can start generating money. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy but it’ll be the basis of something that could grow into something bigger and give you a sustainable income.The first idea requires very little outlay. In fact you’ll probably be able to rustle up the equipment you’ll need from the shed or under the sink. Virtually all modern housing have plastic replacement windows, doors and some have conservatories constructed in the same, usually white, plastic. Now when you engage the services of an orthodox window cleaner he ( or she) is primarily concerned with the glazing of the unit. The glass. You don’t get the units cleaned. So, over time the wonderful gleaming white plastic units become grubby with dirt and mold. This is where you step in. The resourceful local businessman who can return there once pristine windows to their former glory. All you need is a ladder, some cleaning materials and maybe a few flyers to get you started and your laughing.

Number two on the list does require a little bit of ready cash. Not too much, let’s say fifty to an hundred quid and involves doing a bit of dealing on ebay. Now in times of economic downturn when money is tight everyone is looking for ways to save a little bit. But the world still turns and babies still keep getting born. Yes and have you noticed how expensive babies clothes are? It seems stupid to be laying out precious cash on something the babies going to wear for a couple of weeks. So my idea is to go to the job-lot section of Ebay and start bidding on baby clothes. Then, once you’ve got the clothes back home you pick out the best ones, wash and iron them, put them into plastic sleeves ( a little more outlay) then sell them down the local car boot sale. Now, good quality babies clothes sell like hot cakes especially in areas where money is scarce.

My final idea is a bit like number 1 except that you’ll be cleaning wheelie bins. With this one you’ll probably build up a regular little round that you service on a monthly basis. There are professional companies out there who do this with all the impressive equipment and vans with their names on, but what they’re doing essentially is cleaning a wheelie bin and all that takes is elbow grease, water and some cleaning material. Of course as your business takes off you might want to invest in some equipment yourself, but until then the bare essentials will suffice.

So there you have it. Some simple ideas that with some determination and planning can definitely be an earner. Here’s hoping that the recession and the government’s cuts don’t hit you too badly. Good luck to all.
