Car boot sales are a great way to make money out of items you no longer have a use or purpose for. With a small entry fee, car boot sales are popular in most areas; some places even have them running twice weekly. If you are planning to do a car boot sale get ready a few days in advance to insure you are ready for that early morning start.

What do people but at car boot sales?

Anything really, it depends on the punters that day, but take what you have got, baby items and clothes always seem to sell well.

Anything you do not sell can be saved for another sale or taken to a charity shop afterwards if you do not wish to take it back home.

Getting ready for the car boot sale

Sort out your things in to categories or at least neatly so when you arrive you can get everything out quickly so the first buyers have chance to see what you have got.

What to take to the car boot sale apart from my items I will sell.

Change pot or bag, some people may need change from a note, it’s a nightmare if you haven’t got it as you have lost a sale.

A blanket to put your sale items on is very handy. Even an old sheet will do or perhaps a decorating/ pasting table. It’s up to you how you want to present the items.

A fold up chair to sit on, or again if space is limited a blanket, after all if it’s an early start you’ll be there half the day.

Something to eat such as a packed lunch or a warm flask, there are usually stalls there to buy from, but if you’re alone you cannot leave the stall so pack a drink and food.

Wellies or trainers as the fields can be muddy even if it hasn’t rained for a few days previously.
